Oz Nesbitt, Sr., Post I

Osborn "Oz" Nesbitt, Sr. was elected to the Post One seat on the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners and first took office in January 2009.

Nesbitt is a native of Augusta, Georgia and has been a resident of Rockdale County since 2001. 

Nesbitt is a graduate of T.W. Josey High School and attended Voorhees College in South Carolina. Nesbitt works as a Career Development Coach with SPEAK UP! Communications, Inc. and as an Internet Sales Manager with Sons Auto Group.  Nesbitt brings over 20 years of experience in public relations, business and community service.

Locally, Nesbitt has served the Rockdale County Public Schools (200-2003) as a Discipline Instructor, In-School Suspension Officer and a coached basketball. Nesbitt's community service interest include the Rockdale Democratic Party, East Atlanta Networking Social, member of the Uplift Organization, 100 Black Men of America, and Toastmasters International, where he has received numerous awards for his unique public speaking skills.

  • Nesbitt is married to Robernett and is the father of Oz Jr., Shana, Stacey and Evynn.  He is an active member of Beaulah Missionary Baptist Church where he serves on various ministries.
