Payment Procedures: Contact the Clerk's Office (770-278-7900) before the court date marked on your traffic citation in order to get a quotation of the fine amount.
Allow at least seven (7) working days from time of citation issuance before calling the Clerk's office. Some cases may require a personal court appearance, while other cases may allow payment at the Clerk's office before court without a court appearance. Ask the Clerk's office if your fine may be paid before court. If your fine can be paid before court, such fine must be paid at least one (1) day before start of court session in order to avoid a court appearance.
If charged with driving on an expired tag, but the tag was valid at the time of the stop, you must appear in court, but the charge can be reduced to a warning, with no fine imposed.
If charged with driving on an expired tag, and the tag was not valid at the time of the stop, the fine may be paid at the Clerk's office without a court appearance.
If proof for the offense of no proof of insurance can be provided to the Clerk's office, the fine may be handled at Clerk's window and a court appearance may be not required. NOTE: The Clerk's Office will need the insurance company's contact information to verify proof of insurance.
Not all accident cases are required to appear in court, so call ahead for this charge.
