Department of Management Information Services (M.I.S.)
The MIS Department provides network and application support for 29 different County departments and elected offices. MIS manages Countywide I.T. contracts, coordinates I.T. governance, develops hardware and software standards, works with Purchasing to develop sole source brand authorized listings, reviews I.T. purchase requisitions, and assists County departments and Purchasing in answering I.T.-related questions, gathering quotes, developing Statements of Work, and managing I.T. project implementations.
The MIS Department manages and ensures the security and safety of the County’s computing and network resources by creating, implementing, and enforcing I.T. security policies, procedures, and standards, by educating County employees about cyber security (internal and external threats), and by performing electronic discovery as part of Georgia’s Open Records Act in response to subpoenas or internal investigations.
