The Department of General Services and Engineering (GS&E) oversees various services provided to the citizens of Rockdale County.

The department issues business licenses, special events permits, and sign permits.  GS&E also handles all building and development permitting and related services, including stormwater, and erosion and sediment control issues.  Additionally, the department oversees transportation, and planning and zoning.

The department also is responsible for providing program management services over large capital projects.  The department is responsible for developing the facilities master plan to identify long-term office and judicial space needs.
