Every now and then people notice little grey to brown flies fluttering around their kitchen or bathroom sinks. When these flies land, they hold their wings flat over their back. They are only one eighth of an inch in size. They don't bite.
These flies are called Drain Flies, Moth Flies or Filter Flies because they breed in accumulations of organic debris in bathroom or kitchen plumbing. To get rid of them, swat adults when you see them. Clean out your drains with a good drain cleaner to remove any built up organic matter stuck in the pipes. No insecticides are needed.
