Get Involved - We Need You!

The Rockdale County Board of Elections is seeking motivated people, who can endure long hours (6 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m.), to work as Poll Officials for the upcoming election.  All workers are required to attend a three-hour training class required for all Poll Workers prior to each election. 

Poll Worker Application

Positions Available:
Clerk/Greeter - $105

  • Must be a resident of Rockdale County
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must have successfully attended and completed the training class conducted by the Rockdale County Board of Elections before each election
  • Must assist with setting up polling places

Assistant Manager - $130

  • Must be willing to serve as Manager if requested by the Board of Elections office
  • Must have served as a Clerk/Greeter in at least two elections in Rockdale County
  • Must have own transportation to pick up election supplies and/or equipment and bringing same to check-in center, and be able to lift at least 20 lbs.

Chief Manager - $200

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have served in at least two elections in Rockdale County as an Assistant Manager
  • Must have successfully attended and completed the training class conducted by the Rockdale County Board of Elections before each election
  • Must have own transportation to pick up election supplies and/or equipment and bringing same to check-in center and be able to lift at least 20 lbs.

    Qualifications:
    • Must be a judicious, intelligent, and upright citizen of the United States
    • Must be 16 years of age or over
    • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
    • Must be a resident of Rockdale County
    • Must be able to withstand at least a 14-hour day of work
    • Must have a general knowledge of computers
    • Must attend a mandatory training session and be willing to abide by and carry out all election laws and procedures at the polling place.

    NOTE: No Poll Officer shall be a candidate for an election, an elected official, or close relative of candidates, including the candidate’s parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law where the candidate’s name appears on the ballot. However, a Poll Officer may serve in a primary in which he seeks election to a political party office unless prohibited by the rules of the political party conducting the primary.

    Georgia Election Code Section 21-2-8 states that no person convicted of a felony shall serve as a Poll Officer unless his civil rights have been restored.
