Quarterly Park Tours
The Rockdale County Recreation Division creates community through people, parks and programs by providing opportunities to explore, discover and learn. Recreation encourages socialization with family, friends and other participants, and promotes active, adventurous lifestyles. Trips will include parks and recreational facilities that can be utilized for various uses.
Dates and Times: Please check current brochure
Locations Visited: Rockdale Auditorium, JP Carr Gym, JP Carr Community Room and the Senior Services Center
Fee: $2 per person
Bus limits: 8 - 20 people per trip
Bus will leave from the Johnson Park Recreation Center
Reservations must be made in advance, please call 770-278-7529 to make reservation.

July is National Recreation and Parks Month
The Johnson Park Recreation Center will be open free of charge to the public in honor of National Recreation and Parks Month. Visitors may swim, play basketball or exercise in the weight room at no charge.

Summer Camp for Ages 5-12
Activities include: swimming, arts & crafts, community service projects, teambuilding activities, field trips and more.
Dates: Summer 2011
Time: 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Fee: $100 per week for County residents
Walk in Registration will be held on May 2, 2011, at 8 a.m. for ALL CAMPERS!

Kickboxing to Hip-Hop, Funk and Latin music. The class has a party atmosphere. It includes: cardio, legs, abs and a cool-down, all in one hour. The class was created by people who understand the importance of fun.
Participants can burn from 600 to 800 calories per class. This class is for beginner to advanced exercisers. Build some muscle…Lose some calories…Have some fun! Last 15 minutes of class we do total body toning/resistance exercises. Special
attention is given to glutes and lower body. Materials needed: towel or resistance band.
Days & Times: Tuesdays, 6 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. or Thursdays, 6 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
Ages: 14 and older
Fee: $38 per month for County residents
$5 per class for County residents
$50 per month for non-County residents
$7.50 per class for non-County residents

Yoga Fitness & Wellness Classes
Benefits of class can include: improved balance, mobility & stability, gain muscular flexibility and strength, stress reduction, lower blood pressure, improve posture and enjoying fellowship and laughter. Class taught by a certified Yoga instructor.
Day and Time: Mondays, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Ages: 18 and older
Fee: $8 per class or $28 per month
Rockdale County employees and Senior Center members are eligible for a discount.

Monday: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Adult Tai-Chi
Monday: 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday: 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Fees: Kung Fu/Tai Chi: $65 per month - County residents
Both classes may be taken for $90 per month
$97.50 per month - Non-County residents
Both classes may be taken for $135 per month

Line Dancing Classes
Join the group for some real fun on Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons. All levels welcome. Classes are tailored to meet participants’ needs.
New Beginnings Class: Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
All Levels Class: Fridays, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Ages: 15 and older (participants do not have to be Senior Center members)
Fee: $5 per class
Location: Olivia Haydel Senior Center
To Register: Complete student information sheet. Each time you attend, sign in at the front desk and pay the class fee 

Heart-Core Fitness
This program is focused on Special Population Groups (individuals with diabetes, hypertension, arthritis,
coronary heart disease, and obese youth and adults). Instructors will lead such groups back to a healthy and prosperous lifestyle through a combination of body resistance exercises, strength training and cardiovascular exercises along with healthy eating habits.
Days & Time: Wednesdays, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Fee: $120 per month for 12 sessions (pre pay)
$35 per week (pre pay)
$12 per session - walk in only
Free assessment (By scheduled appointment only)

Soccer 101
Learn the fundamentals of the game: Dribbling, controlling the ball, passing and shooting ---
all the ins-and-outs of the game. This is a great class for beginners or those in need of extra practice.
Day & Time: Fridays, 4:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Fee: $5
Ages: All ages welcome
Location: Johnson Park Recreation Center
Please bring ball, indoor shoes or tennis shoes and shin guards.

African Dance
Instructors are a husband and wife team with over 40 years of collaborative experience in
African dance and music. Dance attire is preferred.
Day: Mondays
Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Ages: Youth 15 and under
Fee: $50 per month for County residents / $75 per month for non-County residents
Individual classes may be taken for $12.50 per class for County residents /
$18.75 per class for non-County residents

NOTE: At least three students must be enrolled to form a class.

Stretch band Class 
Total body workout using only resistance bands. This thirty minute class will challenge your entire body with resistance from the band and your own body weight.
Day: Tuesday
Time: 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Fee: $2 per class per person

NOTE: At least three students must be enrolled to form a class.

Zumba fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you’ve got a Zumba class!
