Notice to Property Owners & Occupants - New Georgia Law

Georgia Law (OCGA 48-5-264.1) requires property owners and occupants be provided reasonable notice prior to a site visit conducted by or on behalf of the Rockdale County Board of Assessors. The following areas have been schedule for a site visit by an appraiser during August, September and October 2010.

• Kings Mountain
• Arlington
• Rivermont
• Gleaton Manor
• Gleaton Trace
• Rural Map 87
• Rural Map 88

Also with this listing, properties that have been recently sold, permit obtained, property under appeal, or property under review due to Property Tax Return will be subject to an on site visit.

The purpose of these site visits is to update the property record which enables the Board of Assessors Office to more accurately determine fair market values and/or make other determinations as required by law. The appraiser will have a photo identification badge and will be driving an appropriately marked County government vehicle.
