Rockdale Neighborhood Stabilization Program Now Taking Applications- Receive up to $14,500 in Homebuyer Assistance on 'move-in ready' inventory homes.
The Rockdale Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) was created for the purpose of stabilizing communities that have been severely impacted by foreclosures and abandonment. Through the purchase and redevelopment of foreclosed and abandoned homes, the goal of the program will be realized.
Program Overview
To minimize the foreclosure impact, the NSP will purchase foreclosed homes in targeted areas, make necessary repairs and sell the homes to eligible homebuyers. Eligible applicants, who select a NSP home must submit earnest money and an executed contract. Additionally, all homebuyers are required to complete eight hours of homebuyer education, which must include two hours of one-on-one housing counseling by a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. All homebuyers must present a Certificate of Completion. A list of HUD-approved homebuyer education agencies is available upon request.
Eligibility
Eligibility for NSP varies based on a multitude of family situations, including families as small as one person with an annual income of up to $25,100, to larger families with annual salaries of over $110,000. Persons residing either in or outside of Rockdale County who meet the criteria in the application are encouraged to apply for assistance through the NSP.
