Applying for NSP is a simple four step process:
Step One: The first step is to complete the Rockdale County Homeownership Application. All applications remain on file through the end of the program. Applicants receive priority based of the date of application and not the date of eligibility. Applicants are encourage to apply early due to high demand for Rockdale NSP homes.
1st Priority*: Residency: Current Rockdale County Residents
2nd Priority*: Profession: The following professionals are given second priority to purchase NSP homes- First Responders, Educators, and Government Employees
3rd Priority*: NSP Application: date of application and not the date of eligibility. Applicants are encourage to apply early due to high demand for Rockdale NSP homes.
*Certain review criteria may apply for homebuyers within identified income categories per HUD guidelines. Please contact program administrator for additional information.

Step Two: NSP homebuyers are responsible for securing financing for the NSP home. The program will only provide down payment assistance and closing cost contributions. A suggested lender's list is available upon request.
Below is an example of the notification applicants will receive once deemed eligible. Applicants will be deemed eligible once all the required documentation from steps one and two is received and processed. Applicants may be deemed eligible at any time and documentation is accepted on a continuous basis or until applicants are deemed eligible. Applicants deemed eligible may receive updated information regarding newly listed properties that are available for sale. Applicants will remain on the program eligibility list until program completion.
Step Three: Rockdale County NSP requires completion of an eight-hour homebuyer education session from a HUD certified agency. Six hours are conducted in a group setting and a two-hour individual counseling session. Please contact one of the HUD certified counseling agencies to register. At registration, identify your intent to participate in the Rockdale program.
Step Four: Select a home from the Rockdale County NSP's (click) available inventory list.
