Adoption Requirements

Adoption fees for animals at the shelter are as follows:
County Residents:
- Dogs/Puppies: $30
- Cats/Kittens: $20
Non-County Residents
- Dogs/Puppies: $35
- Cats/Kittens: $25

Adoption fees may be paid by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard

A person must be at least 18 years old, have a photo identification and the proper fees to adopt a pet. Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check. Additionally, the person adopting the pet must sign a contract agreeing to have the animal spayed/neutered. Spaying/neutering of pets adopted from an animal shelter is required by Georgia state law.

The adoption fee includes a certificate for a rabies inoculation, which is required by state law and county ordinance. The vaccine must be given by a licensed veterinarian.

Adoption Fee Includes the Following:
Dogs/Puppies: parvo/distemper vaccine, bordatella vaccine (age allowing), H3N8 vaccine (on most dogs/puppies), deworming, puppy/dog pack with coupons, samples of food and/or treats, pre-payment of rabies vaccine, spay/neuter voucher (for low cost spay/neutering) and free vet exam
Cats/Kittens: Feline distemper vaccine, deworming, cat/kitten pack with coupons, samples of food and/or treats, pre-payment of rabies vaccine, spay/neuter voucher (for low cost spay/neutering) and free vet exam
