If the owner of an impounded dog can be reasonably ascertained, every effort will be made to contact the owner. However, many dogs are impounded without identification.
It is imperative that the owner of a missing dog visit the shelter at least weekly in an effort to find a lost dog.
Owners may call the shelter and inquire as to whether their dog has been impounded. However, it is in the best interest of a missing dog that owners visit the shelter because many dogs have very similar characteristics.
Impounded dogs may be reclaimed at the shelter:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
