Request for Field Services/Emergencies

Request for field services are handled by an Animal Control Code Enforcement Officer during regular shelter and field service hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Residents may register complaints regarding dogs running at large and/or inhumane treatment concerns by calling the shelter. Most calls receive same day service.

After hours, weekend, and holiday calls are limited to emergencies only. For emergency Animal Control service call the shelter and listen carefully to the pre-recorded instructions. (PLEASE NOTE: Do not leave messages on the answering machine, it is for announcement only.)

The following situations constitute an emergency:

  • An injured or obviously sick companion animal that does not have an owner or other responsible party to come to its aid.
  • A free ranging dog or cat that has bitten a human being while running at large and its ownership cannot be readily determined, or is absent.

Contact Animal Control if a dog appears to be overtly aggressive or vicious and is at large and no owner can be readily determined to bring it under control. For emergencies, call 9-1-1.
